What is Positive Intelligence (PQ)®?

Positive Intelligence (PQ)®,

developed by Stanford lecturer, author and CEO, Shirzad Chamine, harnesses the power of identifying negative thought patterns, known as Saboteurs, that often create conflict and misunderstanding in relationships. PQ® then teaches us how to regulate our emotions and shift to a positive, empathetic, and creative viewpoint, known as the “Sage” perspective.

How it works:

  • Identify Saboteurs: Understand the internal negative thought patterns that affect your emotional well-being.

  • Activate the Sage: Learn to tap into the deep reservoir of positive emotions and wise responses that can counteract your negative thought patterns.

  • Build Mental Muscles: Through consistent practice, strengthen your mental muscles and enhance your ability to handle life's challenges with a positive attitude.

The Positive Intelligence (PQ)® program applies the principles of cognitive psychology and neuroplasticity to provide the tools for individuals to actively improve their mental health, enhance resilience, and achieve a greater sense of overall life satisfaction.

Cognitive
Psychology

  • Cognitive Behavioral Techniques: Cognitive psychology forms the basis of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), a highly effective treatment that works by changing negative thought patterns and behaviors, leading to improvements in mood and well-being.

  • Mindfulness and Awareness: Cognitive approaches often include mindfulness techniques, helping individuals become more aware of their thoughts and feelings. This awareness is crucial for identifying and altering negative patterns.

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Cognitive psychology equips individuals with problem-solving skills, enhancing their ability to cope with life's challenges and reducing feelings of helplessness and stress.

Neuroplasticity

  • Brain's Adaptability: Neuroplasticity is the brain's ability to reorganize and form new mental pathways throughout life.

  • Formation of Positive Habits: By repeatedly practicing new, healthy thought patterns and behaviors, individuals can strengthen neural pathways that support these patterns. Over time, this leads to sustained changes in behavior and thought processes.

  • Stress and Anxiety Reduction: Neuroplasticity allows for the development of more effective coping mechanisms. This can lead to a reduction in symptoms of anxiety and stress, contributing to overall well-being.
